BIM (Building Information Modelling) coordinators are responsible for digital processes associated with the design and construction stages of a project. They ensure 3D models, drawings and structural data are hosted in one, accessible place and deliver project information model to clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up standards for managing the scope and integration of work assigned to subcontracted design entities.
Creating standards and workflows for the delivery of All Discipline designs that comply with project requirements.
Support practices and application of BIM (Building Information Modelling) throughout the project life-cycle (estimating to turnover).
Create standard work processes to coordinate and integrate design work with other design consultants.
Create standard work processes to coordinate design development (schedule, model authoring etc.) with other departments.
Integrates inter-disciplinary models.
Conducts design and constructability reviews.
Create standard processes for the preparation of quantity take-offs.
Review of Contract technical requirements including Clients specifications.
Directs and coordinates engineering activities for the project or assigned portion including supervision of engineers & designers of mechanical discipline within a global business unit.
Performs and manages the work in accordance with relevant Engineering Department Procedures.
Resolves field-initiated queries on engineering.
Visits jobsite or other offices, as required for exchange of information.
Coordinates activities among the design groups/offices on the project.
Assign, reviews work of subordinate team members. Ensures quality of deliverables.
Manages the flow of information required from third parties to assure the timely progress of the engineering work.
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to client, project and functional management as directed and as appropriate.
Champions the creation of strong teamwork for problem-solving, experiences with creating innovative design workflows and engineering work processes.
